This month celebrated fifty years of ownership of my '56 Powerhawk.
Purchased in January just a couple of months prior to my separation from the Army in 1966 when it had 33K on the odometer and it has resided in RI, DC and TX. It served as a daily driver for the first four years when it it was joined my my new-to-me Avanti R1. Both cars were a joy but the Powerhawk remains while the Avanti now resides somewhere in Australia.
I'm presently am in the finishing stages of a refurbishment as nothing remains as it was without occasional attention. New paint, fender repair and other minor things and mention the fact that the car just turned 90K.
Hopefully, the Powerhawk will get me back to RI in time for this year's international meet and it will go for sale as it is time for it to go to a new owner. Then I will be able to complete a "fun" car, a '55 Prez State sedan that will be "lightly modified to become a new weekly driver.
I'm glad that I caught this before February actually begins and I think that I might throw myself a party later today...
