  • The stude tomato.

I was scanning some photos, and noticed the front bumper was missing at some point at the Drag Strip. just wondering what's up with that.

That was at The Muncie Dragway, Joe; wasn't it? Of course, you must run a bumper at The Pure Stock Drags, so it couldn't have been there.

It's been some time, but I do remember Ted going to Muncie without the front bumper for some reason. Maybe he'll chime in. BP

That was when I took the bumper off to have it re-chromed.

          Right, Ted; now I remember.

Few people realize that you have to have aluminum rechromed every ten years or so.

          JUST KIDDING. BP

That was the first thing I thought, Bob. One of my favorite cars is the Hairy Oldsmobile. They had it at the GSTA Rod and Custom show a number of years ago when it was in the process of being restored. The most unique piece on the vehicle is the front bumper, normally heavy steel and chrome, fabricated out of aluminum and just about indistinguishable from the stock item.

Would be nice to have an aluminum bumper and while at it, a fiberglass hood and fenders; shoot might as well go for a plexiglass windshield and windows as well. Bet George is slobbering about now.
