Newbie 'strange' question

Forgive me for this question....

Has anyone ever taken 2 bullet nose 4 door cars and cut them in half and mated the two front ends together so that you couldn't really tell if it was coming or going??

I have seen at least two versions. The '50 Champion I took a picture of at Gettysburg in 1980 belongs to the Clown Brigade of the Jaffa Shrine in Altoona, PA and they still use it.



The other was an earlier model I don't recall; perhaps a '47-'49.

I saw a newspaper picture of one such "freak" back about 1960, when I lived in upstate NY.

Unfortunately, I saw that done here several years ago. There were two old Rockne four door sedans; one which could have been shown as a 'rough around the edges' original, and the other which required restoration. Both were chopped up and made into a stretch limo with less than stellar build quality.

Well...you need to remember, these were done decades ago, when there were still thousands of them still in use and tens of thousands sitting in salvage yards or being crushed. Perhaps the equivalent of doing that today to a 1995 Oldsmobile or 2000 Pontiac.

I always wanted to do that, but don't have the skills. I thought putting two trunks together and making a trailer for it would be cool too.

My local junk yard has a '60 Lark w/2 front ends,painted purple.I tried to buy it,but he wanted too much,and it is powered by a Chevette 4 cyl and stick transmission.I'd post a pic again but my pics are not well organized!

As Yoda said, "Do as you must."

Well if it has been done before, It will not hurt to do it again..

Your version might be a better one than before.. Who knows..

Also, as with MOPARS, it is better to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission.

But, many here love their Studebakers.. And I mean "Loooovvvvvve" them,

To most here, doing a modification as a gimmick or gag may seem offensive.

Think out of the box, not an old cliche as "cant tell if its coming or going!!"

What ever you come up with for a Studebaker, one thing is for certain. When you go to a show, you will be in the 1% not showing up in a Big 3 car..
