I don't think the tacho was offered after 1958 although many have been added since, along with vacuum pressure gauges, etc. They do look a bit odd with a 'blank' beside the speedo!

My 61 Hawk has the factory tach and owner plate. 289 4bl dual exh 3spd od TT 3.54. I am the first owner outside the original buyer's family. Same color as the factory post card mailers used with prospective buyers. Very fun to drive

If anyone is looking for a '61 Hawk, I posted one for sale back in the summer with pictures.
I had a 4 speed that I bought in 1980 for $700, I thought I had really done something when I sold it a couple of years later for $1500. It also had a tachometer (albeit non working).

Sure Do! All of us old timers from So. Cal remember that '61 with the Dodge Dart "GT" Emblem on the Trunk and the "T" Top Black Paintjob on the roof. Paul always had to have everything Chromed like the Steering column shift Bell etc.Originally posted by stupak View Post

I still have my 61 4 speed purchased in 1982 question to all does anyone know the location of the rumble seat hawk i believe built by a custom car builder in chicago some years back ..really a good looking hawk..fred fox wrote a great article in turning wheels several years ago,..one of his funny thoughts was how silly it was that studebaker would limit production on any model that they built..obviously another great marketing idea to push sales ..happy new year to allComment
