  • venders High jacking others thread

It looks to me that a vender has high jacked someone else's thread to suite there agenda, I feel this is not right as they have the option to start there own and have I think everyone that is interested has the information and will be in contact. Just my opinion.

      I wouldn't sweat it.
The Stude world is so small that we accept everyone.
Some participants are vendors, and have been on the forum for years and years.
Kind of hard for you to tell with only 10 post's under your current screen name.
Just hang loose and jump in there when you feel like you want to....

1badstude, it sure would be nice if you would post a link to the thread you are referring to. Otherwise we are just 'assuming' that we know what thread you are concerned about.

Heck yes, They let me in. As Jeff said, go with the flow for a while, I think you'll see it works out quite well.

You have your opinion as do the others on the forum. We've learned to coexist and the information and knowledge on the forum is possibly one of the best overall on the net.

The vendors are probably also some of the most knowledgeable folks on the forum when it come to all things Studebaker. My bet is they will repay you many times more than this inconvenience as they field your questions and provide valuable assistance at no charge.

That may be a violation of the forum rules. Me thinks it's better to let the whole thing pass and let the OP form his opinions after a bit more interaction. A little early to be collecting points.

The Stude world is small. Most of the vendors who participate on the site regularly are small. Vendors are important to the Stude wold and the number of them is slowly growing smaller.
Vendors have added so much to the site, they have been and continue to be an integral part of the fabric of the site.
Take them out of the mix and this would be a bare place.
With all the things against vendors, their age, costs, landlords, aging buyers, they need all the help we can give them.
I want to say thank you. For your knowledge, your free exchange of information, your educational posts, your wisdom, for your many great laughs.

I am referring to the 63 4 speed for sale, I like to read each post for there intent and this has become something way different even though Dick did a great job with a separate thread for the vender as well as he has his own plus the poster was gracious enough to mention upon request that the vender has parts.

If by chance you are actually reffering to the thread, 64 conv. 4 speed. I don't personally consider that thread being hijacked. It stayed with the original subject, a vender merely offered up possibly needed parts.
In my book not a foul just someone trying to help.

In an effort to not be rude I'll stop there.

I have serious support for this Forum. The information that I have gleened from this site has made my love for Studebakers possible.
Without the interaction of the few vendors that we have left out there, and the historical data submitted from the members.......This Forum would be a boring place.........

I don't see a problem, just a source of a solution to a problem that may help the original poster and anyone he was addressing.
That's pretty much what a forum is for. Bouncing ideas around and solving problems. Most posts end up having multiple ideas and ways to solve. Who cares if it's a vendor or not?

Thanks for throwing that out there!

Now Sir you have a perfect example of your thread being hijacked.

I am better at building cars than posting on the forum, I was considering buying the 4 spd car.
