ID:	1703065 Put a GM 5.3L/4L60E combo in mine. Has fatman IFS. Fit right in without changing the firewall. Had to refabricate and move the radiator forward was all. Vintage air makes an AC unit specifically for a C-cab truck and it fits right in the factory hole. I love mine. It runs and drives like a new truck. I'm 5 10 200 lbs and can confirm that the cab is a little tight. Nevertheless, I love my truck. Do a search on this forum using my screen name and you can find lots of posts on this build. Hope you post whatever you do with the truck. It's a great ride and gets tons of attention.

Carl Purdy's 2R truck has a 440 Mopar and torsion bar suspension. It's sitting by my brother's yellow 57 in this picture from Branson in 2013.

My Dad gave me his '59 1/2-ton when I was 17, that was 1978. I still own it and a '59 4x4. Guess I've liked them so much in stock form I never let the tight fit bother me much. I'm 6'5" and 250ish. Buy that truck and enjoy it! :-)

The Volare clip already has power steering and disc brakes. They also ride really nice. It was cheap and easy to do. My buddy has a 51 that they he did the same thing but with a 318. Nice rigs, wish I had that set. I will be picking up my first studebaker truck on tuesdsay if I can get my car hauler out from behind the 2 inches of snow.

IMHO it's the best looking truck ever built! I have a 1950 2R6 that is nearly stock and I love it. The only thing that has been changed is a 6 volt conversion complete with an alternator. I am contemplating a front end conversion, either a Mustang 2 or a Volare as the damn thing steers like a truck, oh yes, it ts a truck. It is yours now so do what ever you want to it.
