Sheriff Of Cochise

Nothing on TV worth watching last night. Turned on the computer and zeroed in on YouTube.
Stumbled upon a television program from 1957 called "Sheriff Of Cochise"
The Sherff Dept. Staff drove a 1956 Chrysler Saratoga wagon and the marked police car was a 1956 Studebaker. The bad guys also drove a 1956 Studebaker sedan and a Studebaker pickup truck!

The Bad guys always drive "inconspicuous"? Cars like Studebakers??? Hmm, depends on the year I guess.

A Show like Highway Patrol with Broderick Crawford in his '55 Buick Century 2 Door Sedan, another neat '50's TV Show.

Sheriff was played by...John Bromfield. Not sure why I remember that bit of trivia as haven't seen the show since I was a preteenager. Cochise county is in Arizona.

I was told once by an SDC member from that area that the Studebakers used as Sheriff cars really were Cochise County Sheriff cars.

Dan Mathews didn't seem to have a preference, as later shows had him in Plymouths, Dodges, Fords and Buicks. I don't however recall any Pontiacs, Oldsmobiles or Studebakers.

Will keep trying to see if I can track it down.

Wow did this bring back some memories. I do remember now watching this in Phoenix as a kid of 5 years old. It looks like Cochise county but I am sure it was filmed in California on some desert back lots. I remember seeing the show one time which a deputy was chasing a bad guy in a 56 Studebaker but the car rolled in the chase. We had a 56 Snowcap white/Gold sedan at the time that dad bought new.

Listening to the background music and the ricochet sound effects; what drama. Also with all the shots fired no one ever had to reload or run out of ammo.
