Here is the new truck mat for Grace

    Hello everyone,

People asked that when I received the trunk mat from Lew that I post a photo of it. Here it is:

My wife suggested that I put some things on it to get it to eventually lay flat. I have to say that it looks beautiful and makes Grace complete. Now I'm on to detailing under the hood and giving everything a good cleaning (especially underneath).
    Kindest regards,

I personally told Lew about your quest for the mat. I'm glad it worked out for both of you.

I wouldn't put weight on it. Just close the trunk and park it in the sun for awhile.

Good idea, Gary. The "weights" I have on it are a pair of fender covers, two Studebaker manuals, my cloth tool bag, and the box for my hydraulic jack.

Wow... Just what you needed to finish the car!

Nice trunk to match the rest of the Stude! I am glad the mat found a good home! I think laying spread out in the trunk will eventually let the mat even out. It was not creased, so it should get better after its winter hibernation.
I can't say for sure that it is an NOS trunk mat, but the guy I got it from had other NOS items, and used to have several '53s, and as far as I know, it probably was an NOS trunk mat he probably got from a small town Studebaker dealer near his home.
