"Fresh" Is a clean Remanufactured transmission. Tranny and guts disassembled, cleaned in our Cuda pressurized washers, Shafts mic'ed hard chromed reground as necessary, pumps mic'ed, new clutches, bands, bearings, bushings, valve body and valves polished, springs measured replaced as necessary, new updated band pins and spacers, shift levers and linkages mic'ed checked for straightness, Parking Pawls powder welded and ground to spec as needed. Torque converter reman with new bushings, rings, sprag clutch reworked, and clutch disk. No core charge, we simply take yours on trade. We treat our customers honest and believe we will get the same in return. No Trade in Add +300 as we will have to source a new core. Fresh unit $2995. Miss Elenor (Bob and Nancy Bacon) Indy is back on the road with one of our units.

Maybe if they had been able to do that, the Packard Twin-Ultramatic transmission wouldn't have the dismal reputation it has today.
By the way, I'm quite familiar with 'Miss Eleanor'....I helped bring her back from the grave twenty five years ago!

Jclary- I have never been into a Stude tranny so I would be hard to say. Let me know what model you have and I will do some research. We have all the special tools for the Ultramatics, I am not sure what would be involved. I am happy to take a look but may need to leave those to they ones who specialize in them.

I too would be interested in who can work on the DG250. I know the cooperator has Herman Thoms listed but does anyone know the waiting list time for him to rebuild? What would be the best way to ship the transmission? Is reinstalling the DG250 require special tools and skill?
My transmission and torque converter are separated from the engine right now
Thanks guys

In Matt's post above (post #5), he included a link to another thread on the forum that praised your work. In that thread was this post by Robert Kapteyn as follows...
"Our own Jerry Kurtz rebuilds DG transmissions.
He goes by Jerezstude on the newsgroup here.
No one know more about these transmissions.
Highly recommended!"
I had not read that before posting in this thread. I've met Jerry at the York swap meet. There, he had some manual transmissions and I didn't think to ask about automatics. Mine are operating fine right now, but it is always good to know resources. Depending on the level of experience, backlog of work...it might be of value for you two to discuss referrals.John Clary

I rebuild all, I don't like to sell "good used" as I really can not track the history of them and I give a warranty on everything we do.
A little more specific:
55-320 never been touched, miles and history unknown will make a nice rebuild.
56-352 Packard Service engine (non-stamped) Running when pulled but no history on miles or when it was installed by a dealer. Again, very nice rebuild.
56-374 is on the assembly stand looked like a nice stock engine until teardown. This was made into a racing engine at some point in it's life with High dome pistons, solid lifter conversion and camed. Block has been bored, honed, decked, heads decked hardened valve seats, new valves, bored +.060, much more, totally returned to stock condition.
48-288 cut out of junked car, turns right over with battery, needs overhaul from setting.
53-327 removed from junked car no history, needs overhaul
36-V-12 have not purchased but is local to me if I decide. Big bucks in rebuilding these bad boys.
Another 374 going up on the stand but that one is going in my 56 PatricianLast edited by troy8466; 09-19-2015, 04:08 PM.
