Do they blink like a directional, or just blink randomly. If random I'd look at the dimmer switch and the wires to it. If they are blinking like a directional it's probably a bad ground somewhere, assuming the wires are correctly routed otherwise. The overhead switch needs a good ground, I don't think there is a separate ground lead for the switch itself just the w/s header. Did you feed new wires to it or is it still using the original. If they blink and the flasher is blinking then you may have a bad connection at the base of the steering column wire plug or the directional switch may have exited and you're feeding back though it. Only problem I have figuring it out is if the headlights blink through the flasher, shouldn't be any common shared wires except the H/L -P/L overhead switch (2nd from left)or a wire there is shorted? Sorry only ideas, never had a problem except when the right rear bulb holder wireswasn't making good contact with the housing, Then everything went nuts. Hope it's something simple like that. Remember fiberglass body-no ground, check for separate ground and a good one, on anything not bolted to the frame, and even then make sure any metal that is used like a ground has a separate ground lead going somewhere, and connected.

Having good grounds on everything is paramount, but the harness going up the windshield pillar and along the top could have gotten "skinned" by the sharp metal along the harnesses route, causing a short. The possibilities are many, but checking out any of them is important, and very time consuming. Good luck, Bill.

If the light blinks off and back on while you are turning the on off switch off; I would suspect that the on off switch is defective. That is, as you turn the switch off the contacts open. Once the switch is fully off the contacts make again.
I would disconnect the cars battery; remove the switch assembly and then reconnect the battery. Remove the power wire that goes to the center terminal on the off switch; The lights should go off. If the lights do go off; reconnect the power wire and disconnect the head light and or parking light wire and see what happens. Again the light should go of. Leaves only the on off switch as the cause of the trouble.

I agree, sounds like the contacts in the on-off rocker switch are hanging up. I'd find a new switch and try it.
