I suspect that the usual naysayers and critics failed to take the time to read the detailed description the artist provided explaining the various aspects of his work. A great deal of time went into the design to capture all the aspects of the Avanti's history. Art is interpretive and requires higher cognitive skills to understand and appreciate, something not everyone possesses.

Did Don McClean ever fully explain American Pie? I don't know for sure; it just seems like he always left a little to the listener's interpretation.

As remarkable as is this Avanti, it seems like the artist explained it so well, which is appreciated, unlike Don McClean. It truly defines a work of art; highly imaginative. BP

I guess its tribute enough for this Avanti to be picked up by a BMW enthusiasts' magazine/site as per the first thread.

BMW is well known for its series of 'car art' starting in the 1970s. http://www.bmwartcarcollection.com/b...cars-timeline/

I read the whole thing, and I'd guess Rich also read it, but I'd have to ask him to be sure, rather than just "suspect". I guess the artist could hang a paper in the window to explain his work to everyone that sees it. I see paintings that sell for millions, but most of them I wouldn't take home for free. Art is what it is, and everyone doesn't have to like the same thing, nor interpret it the same. Would you do such a painting on your house? People can express there thoughts without having to be belittled or put down.

The artist did a nice job, and was nice he explained some reasoning behind it. A solid color would be a better fit for the car. Was a nice try though.

It seems being belittled or put down works both ways "I for one would not laugh at this Avanti,if I saw it out and about"

This is a work of art in my opinion and an interesting one at that.

This is why this should be in TW. I don't understand how something like this is months old and the Studebaker Drivers Club as a whole knows NOTHING about it!!!!
Turning Wheels is scooped by a BMW group?? Come on, now.
