Production numbers

I have a 63 Hawk with an R2 Jet Thrust engine, 4 speed, twin traction and hill holder. Anyone know how many were produced? Somewhere I heard the number as 97. This particular car was one of two at the 63 New York Auto show.

Yes, 'Powershift' is an automatic, but that thread still answers your question with 4-speed numbers also posted.

The monograph from the museum states 276 R-2 Hawks for 1963. Production of both R-1 & R-2 Hawks was 645. It also lists 109 Hawks in Velvet Black or 16.9% production. There was an article in Turning Wheels some years ago on R powered Hawks that I seem to remember, in the case of my car, there were 56(?) made with Rose Mist, mine being one of them. I would have to pull up the article to see how many were black and if those figures included R-1 & R-2 cars together.
