  • 1951 Business coupes

    In this Chart it has Custom Business coupe (2429) and DeLuxe business coupe(961). So my question is which is a Q1 and Q4, So that would make 3390 business coupes instead of 2429

    Q2 is Regal (373)
    Q4 is Custom (2429)
    Total of 3763.

    Plus the one known '51 Commander business coupe.

        Thank you. On another thread/topic, I was recently "shot down" when I stated that there were 3764 1951 three passenger (business) coupes. The 3764 is 3763 Champions and one Commander.

            Trim levels are easy to clone. The body tag, which would reveal the origin, is also available as reproductions. A production order that matches Serial No. to body tag would be nearly definitive.

                I have a "10G-Q4" - plus "PUTT" on the Production order. also shows Automatic Transmission - which she still has.

                the late Tom Elliott really opted it out with many '51 accessories available. i have the "Retail Salesman's Guide" accessory book for the '51 Studebaker. Jack White (Bamajak) and I went thru the book this spring at a car show, and the only thing we saw that wasn't in the book was the propeller on the bullet nose. the interior door panels and the upholstery behind the seat isn't original, as the exterior paint, but all looks good!

                Matthew might have more info than i do about her...

                  My Q-4 # 2233 is a very cheap 51 with no options except O.D, no Fender guards
