    According to Michelin's website the Tweel is designed for such things as Bobcats and provides a much better ride for the driver. I presume the mini bulldozers are called Bobcats in the US???

      Bobcat is a brand of skid steer loader. Many of the Mennonites use then with steel banded wheels.

          I think it is a result of Engineers trying to keep busy earning their salaries, and the Marketers happy, by designing something that makes what you've already got obsolete!
