My first stop would be over at Joliet Studebaker with Bob Kapteyn.
He has a building full of pre-WWII stuff.
    Hope the info helps.

        Hi John,
the headlight glass should be easy to find new. There are venders of that sort of thing that can cross reference them with other makes etc if a Stude dealer does not have them.

You need to buy the parts books for your car, which are commonly available.

Once you get into the hang of restoring 1930's cars as opposed to those common 1950's and 60's ones, you will find the parts semi easy enough to find if it is mechanical stuff. Body wise it can be a little bit more difficult as there are not too many dealers that still live that can spot 1930's parts and know exactly what model they are for.

You might try George Rohrbach. He operates as High-Speed Motors, specializes in pre-war. I think I gave him some mid-30s lenses a few years ago. I didn't find a website for him.

                            Hi John,
I would have thought that the chassis parts book from 34 to 41 would do the trick.

In terms of getting body parts stuff, you will always be pushing the friendship up hill.

Mechanical stuff for that car is very common, when you have the right dealer, or knowledge of them. I actually dont know of anybody in the US that has a wrecking yard with for Studebakers of that period. I would bet there are a few around, to get some of the body bits you are after.

One thing you can do is get a roster from SDC and also join ASC to get a roster and start phoning people to see if they have spare parts or know an older vender that probably has some.

For headlights etc, there is a guy who advertises in Hemmings if you are desperate for the internals.

Personally I would just get the rosters and start calling people and you will hit a home run eventually. The demographics of age are on your side, in that an old owner may have come to the realization that he cant possibly use all his spare parts and may sell to you.

Not many people are interested in those cars. Everybody loves them but I dont meet too many people prepared to put money where mouth is for those 30's cars.

For body stuff, you will probably just have to work with what you have. Restoring those 30's cars is not like restoring the 60's stuff where everything is available. You just have to get used to jumping the hurdles as you go along and learn about a different period of car.
