I remember you asking about it. Duct tape comes in a lot of colors so that solves the interior issue. A decent rear end ratio is not expensive and if it's a TBI you can get a chip burned for cheap, then drive the wheels off of it. If it's still the goofy carb, get a decent one out of your garage add a VooDoo cam and forge ahead fearlessly. Might want to check the license on the young lady afore she hits the highway, though.

That Avanti looks much better than I was expecting to see. I thought the upholstery was going to be in shreads. I'd buff the paint and clean the upholstery and drive it as a survivor.

2.87 behind a 700R4 would end up with a 2.00 final drive. Would not be able to use 4th gear except going down hill. :-)

Follow your wife's advice. Once in a great while they will surprise you with their wisdom. LOL! Its an 85 so it would have an AOD trans. A 350 crate motor would be a nice upgrade, but for me the priority would be paint, interior, then motor upgrade with a 3:31 rear gear swap. I have a 76 with the maroon and dark tan interior. I think the combination paint and interior yours has is one of the prettiest combos for Avantis. I never was a fan of the contrasting welting around the seats though, I much prefer a single color for the seats. Get that baby prettied up!
