Hi, Tim;
What a coincidence! Today, I was sorting some old files and ran across a list of Studebaker dealers we had assembled as of February 1983, as those who may still be offering Studebaker Parts at that time.
Included on that list was the following entry:
Dusenbery Motors
Main & Chaco Streets
Aztec NM 87410
telephone: (505) 334-9223
I'm sorry, though; I do not have further information.BP

Hey Tim,
This may lift that shroud of mystery, just a tad............... http://www.dusenberys.com/about.php and yes Studebaker is mentioned in the history of the business!

Yes it's no mystery. The dealership is still there with all its dealer plaques award still on the walls. I believe it's now advance auto parts store with a car wash and trailer sales across the street. After Studebaker's they went into selling Datsons and then Nissan there dealer ship was pulled because they only had a small lot. Just like the old days with studebaker . The brothers run it now .each of them playing with Studebaker still with shops within blocks of the store. And of course Full of Studebaker's and their dealer signs that used to hang out front. It said that the second floor of the shop is still full of Studebaker stock. Have never been up to see it. But I do stop in and visit every year when I'm on vacation in the four corners area. It's taking many years for them to warm up to visitors. But they are pretty friendly now. Thanks John Kroulik

John Kroulik and I stopped by Dusenbery's this last weekend and had a great visit with one of the brothers. Their shop has lots of Studebaker pictures posted on the walls as well as several old photos of the days when they were selling Studes. We were told that they sold Studebakers from 1939 thru 1966. During most of the years they were known as "Valley Service" and around 1964 when they started selling Datsuns, were known as Dusenbery's.
Here's pics of a few of the items on the walls.

The Team... Jim Dusenbery is the one in the hat.
More of the team
Some recognition...
Some nice memorabilia pieces...
All this plus they have a couple of other shops close by with a many cars, trucks and parts. Maybe we'll get in to see them next year?Mike Lynch

My dad and I toured through Cortez, and Durango in 1980 in our Packard Hawk. We had the roster stating this dealer was there, but never stopped in. . Never saw any Studebakers on the road even back then.Bez Auto Alchemy
