There is a reason for that, they ARE the same Length doors as the Cruiser, since all 1962 4 Doors share the 113 Inch Wheelbase of the Y Body '61 Cruiser.

Without the Rear opening vent windows, the rear doors are and look very long with HUGE Windows, so you get a leaky, rattling, wind noise creating Rear Door and Window.

The 1962 to 1966 Y Body Cruisers were no longer their own specialty, Compact Limousine Car like their predecessors; the Land Cruisers, President States, '58 President Sedan, and the '61 Cruiser.

The attempt was made in 1963 to single the Cruiser out as a "Limousette" "Studebaker Cruiser", not a Lark, but the differences were really not much compared to a Custom 4 door.

Thanks, Rich. I was thinking what you wrote about the lengths, but you did the "typing".

To me, the big distinction with 1963 Cruisers is not the exterior, but the interior.
