When I first joined this forum it was because I was saving up to buy a 63 GT hawk that I had been watching since childhood. I saved up a large sum of cash and met with the owner who was let's say, exceptionally unfriendly. The car although very cool, closer inspection revealed a very large amount of rust, and the owner was sure it was worth 3k so I had to walk. I instead scored a 53 C coupe that I am now working on. But after seeing this car disappear from the same spot it sat for over two decades I had to know its fate, if it was in a scrap yard it needed saved. So my search led me to a man named Tony in Omaha NE. Who purchased the car drug it home where he would begin repairs, he seemed a very competent and friendly individual who would really fix this poor thing up. Looks like its almost ready for interior/paint. I would love to go look at it just to see it alive, maybe see if he'd take for a ride in it, but I'd hate to waste his time , when honestly I can't afford a 7700 dollar loan and therefore have zero interest. If he was asking say 4k I might be at the bank applying for a loan.

At $7700 he has a awaking about to happen. Says all hard work done for that price it has best be ready for a quick macco paint job and it's done.

I know this Tony guy, met him at a car show. He wanted to buy my GT 2 years ago. Next thing I know he called to tell me he bought one to restore. Little did I know it was the same one you had looked at.

I ran into a problem with the 53 when I got it home the garage that I had my Z stashed in looked roomy when it was the Z, once the Studebaker was in though there is very little room to work around it. I wasn't honestly ready to start on her yet anyways so I wasn't too concerned. I plan to tear into it this summer, I'm either going to relocate it or just work with my little space for now. I was given a built 259 V8 by a very nice local man, that needs a little work. It has ported heads, its been bored over a little, and has a R2 cam, but it spun a rod bearing. So I'm gonna tear it open and redo all the bearings. I'll start a build thread once I get going on it.

Yeah frank He seemed like an alright guy, I don't think he's gonna get 7700 but I'm just happy to see it back on the road all straightened out. Its no longer a parts car, even if it still needs work. Just so cool to see it alive.

Someone else bought it, and now are asking 10k lol. I thought the original-ish owner was crazy at 3k.

So this is the third owner who bought an easy restoration with all the hard work done and now is selling it.

As has been aptly said, there's nothing easy about a restoration except writing checks.

Well the last guy Tony may have been off on pricing, but his work looked good. And I suppose he can't have been to far since someone else has it now. Not sure if this guy thought he was gonna buy it at 7700 and turn a profit...... I still think its a 5k car, max. But hey glad to see its still kicking.
