Can you at least save that rare one-off Rear Glass in the '61 Cruiser, I could use it but not being able to get it here it would be good to know it's in Texas for myself or someone to get later.StudeRich

Both have now been crushed, but many parts were saved. It is amazing how scrap metal prices jumped up this week.
When scrap metal is up & diesel is down I am a happy camper;-)
Filling up for $2.37/gal puts me in a traveling mood.
Next is a rusty '62 Daytona 4 spd. we are dismantling between showers.

Barry, what's scrap price there? I've been helping George K. clean out his boneyard and we crushed a couple of cars about a month ago, and only got 4 cent a pound. A rusted out '62 Hawk with no engine/trans netted him about 75 bucks.
Of course, it's more about cleaning up the shop than it is making money.
I think we've gotten rain every day for the last week, and the weekend is looking to be even wetter. I'm over it!

Barry: I sent a private message to you. I need the top and bottom clips that fit between the left and right back window chrome pieces. Price is not much of an object as i really need those two pieces. If those were saved please let me know.sigpicBob Coolidge

Post Number 13 Clearly shows the Major Differences on this String, the SECOND on one Craig's Post here #12:
http://forum.studebakerdriversclub.c...ght=1961+regal
The Unique SQUARE cornered Rear Glass was peculiar to ALL '61 Lark Sedan Bodies, except the Cruiser "Y" body, it had a design similar to a '59-'60 Lark with Rounded Corners, but it came ALL the way down to the Deck as did all '61 Lark Windshields and Backlights, so it may LOOK like a '59-'60 but is not, it's taller and only fits one Model, ONE Year.
THIS is the whole reason I love these '61 Cruisers and Own one.
I like the Original Bob Burke '53 Sedan and C, K, "C" Pillar and rear Quarter Window Design, curved Forward as it goes down in the rear, and the '61 Std. Larks & ALL '62 Larks Lost that Famous '53 Studebaker Characteristic Trademark.
Did I mention that the '61 Lark Cruisers were also the LAST of the "Distinctive looking" "Y" Bodies, Started in at least 1947.
The Post 1961, "New" "Y" Body Cruisers all do have the Famous Long Wheelbase "Limosine" legroom in the Rear like all "Y" Bodies, but sadly they lack any real difference and "Distinction" from the Standard Sedans.Last edited by StudeRich; 04-19-2015, 06:04 PM.StudeRich
