Here is our '64 Daytona hardtop with Real Rodder wheels, Coker BFG Silvertown redlines, and sitting on heavy duty springs all around. I also added the Avanti quick steering arms, which work great. The center caps were made by Tri-C Engineering, and use the Studebaker International decals in a recessed area of the cap.

Nice looking wheels, but that Daytona is not a '64 Hardtop, it's a '65 Daytona Sports Sedan, 2 Door (Post) Sedan, no Hardtop!
I assume if you own it, you know that, maybe a Double Typo?
Has it been '64ised by re-powering with a Studebaker 259 or 289 Engine instead of it's original Pontiac of Canada 283 V8?Last edited by StudeRich; 04-03-2015, 01:17 PM.StudeRich

Sure looks like a 64 Hardtop to me, but with 65 Sport Sedan sail panel trim, and a vinyl roof. Better get those eyes checked Rich!Originally posted by StudeRich View PostNice looking wheels, but that Daytona is not a '64 Hardtop, it's a '65 Daytona Sports Sedan, 2 Door (Post) Sedan, no Hardtop!

JSI was STUDEBAKER, when STUDEBAKER wasn't "KOOL".

Thaks JS, my Bad, I should have enlarged it TWICE! That "narrow "B" pillar" is NOT a pillar, but a pair of window frames, I don't know why I did not notice the Chrome Belt Mouldings.Originally posted by LarkTruck View PostSure looks like a 64 Hardtop to me, but with 65 Sport Sedan sail panel trim, and a vinyl roof. Who would'a thunk that anyone would try to duplicate a '65-'66 Vinyl Roof?
I would never contemplate that, actually I have!

It is definitely a postless hardtop, built in late '63. 64V1657. Came with a 259 V8 and Powershift transmission with bucket seats and floor shifter.Originally posted by StudeRich View PostNice looking wheels, but that Daytona is not a '64 Hardtop, it's a '65 Daytona Sports Sedan, 2 Door (Post) Sedan, no Hardtop!

Does not have a vinyl roof: it's a factory two tone, which probably explains the sail panel trim. Astra White and Bordeaux Red. The red has been resprayed to a Ford 2E color code some years before I bought it. It's a slightly lighter color. The roof respray has enough lacquer checking in it to make it look like a vinyl roof! I do plan to return it to its original colors at some point.
Here is a different '64 in the same trim:

Actually StudeRich, it's just the opposite, a '64 that's been '65'd. Chevy smallblock, TH 350 trans (similar to a Powershift but lighter, uses the original shifter), and Ford 9" with 'Twin Traction'. The engine has Studebaker valve covers (unique to Stude as it turns out: the Chevys all had 'Chevrolet' stamped in them). The block is black, the valve covers yellow, and an orange fill cap from the 259.
