There are a couple folks working up a display for this event consisting of 2 Door Post Sedan cars from every manufacturer. I know we have some excellent Studebaker cars to represent. The event is in Chicago, Nov 21 and 22. Details in the thread linked here:

Studebaker were VERY WELL represented there last November. http://forum.studebakerdriversclub.c...ighlight=mcacn Expect to see them again this year, and Ed George owns an awesome black '64 Commander two door, as does Nels, with a blue Commander R3 two door.

As Craig mentioned, Studebakers have been in attendance at the last two years of this show. In 2013, it was just Ed George with his R3 powered Avanti, and I with my factory R2 Lark. Last year (2014) there were a total of seven Studebakers in attendance, including two 2-door post cars, Ted Harbit's supercharged Lark and my R2 Lark again. We had some impressive cars in 2014; in addition to the two mentioned, we also had Nelson Bove's Hot Rod Magazine R3 Lark, and two supercharged Avantis from Ed George.
Here are a couple of pictures of the "post" sedans (though, technically, the Avanti has a full "B" piller post too!)

After talking to Nelson and Bob Ashton we will be helping get the R3 Commander to the show and will be in the Post Car Display . Last year was a lot of work and think the Studebakers were well received again . Bob has welcomed Studes in a big way and will be at the May Meet in So Bend with the show display again this year . The magazine coverage at this event is unbelievable and will be interesting to see how the Studebakers will show up on the event coverage . I know we have another invitation for a Studebaker display and were given 12+ spaces last year if we had commitments so having done this the last 2 years Eric and Me would be happy to answer any questions . I'm not driving a 55 in the snow and their carrier won't come over the border (or at least wouldn't even answer me). I don't feel like paying a couple of grand and taking a week off to get it there. Suggestions?Dave Warren (Perry Mason by day, Perry Como by night)

If you plan on being a 'regular' and want to participate with a car in some of these shows that take place in covered venues over the winter months, it might be worth investing in an enclosed car trailer.

Thanks, Craig, but I'm about 18 months away from being FREE (retired). I'll have more time and might invest in a haul along. I won't fear the winter. In the meantime, it's PSMCDRs and a couple of weeks in Mexico.Dave Warren (Perry Mason by day, Perry Como by night)

Since Ed George is off-line due to technical issues, I'll chime in. Neither Ed or myself will be bringing our cars this year. The MCACN organizers like to limit a car to appearing no more than two years in a row to keep the show fresh, which I think is a great idea. I certainly enjoyed having my car on display in both 2013 and 2014! I will say it is a lot of work though especially if you don't own a trailer and drive your car there! You need to arrive either Thursday or Friday, and of course the show is Saturday and Sunday. Being under the bright lights shows every flaw in your car, and you spend many hours prepping your car to try to keep up with your neighbors with the trailer queens. In 2013, I ended up driving home in the snow after the show, which was the pits!
As Matthew noted, there is one confirmed Stude which will appear this year....a special, factory produced car which has not appeared at the show before. While I won't have a car at the show, I will be in attendance, and certainly look forward to it.Eric DeRosa

Craig, I'm sad to say that there will be only one Studebaker on display at MCACN this year. We put a lot of effort into getting cars ready for the show last year and were trying to really make sure they had very good examples of a few high performance Studebakers, and I think it was very successful. For the last two years, there has been a Studebaker in one of the big muscle car magazines in the mix of pictures from the show. That points out to me that they are interested in Studebakers and that the event organizer loves having them there along with the best of the best Big Three cars in the country. As Eric stated, they want different cars every year for the displays and our cars have been used up so they need fresh cars to represent what Studebaker was doing before they closed the doors. I know that Bob Ashton has been promoting his show as best as one man can and that my Dad has been promoting it trying to recruit as many Studebakers as possible, but it seems like there isn't interest. People like reading about the event in Turning Wheels and other magazines but not enough to take their cars out to the show. The problem is that the only cars people will be reading about are the Big Three cars, because those people are the ones bringing their vehicles to MCACN. We worked our butts off to get this ball rolling at this show labeled "the Pebble Beach of muscle cars". Now it's time for people with the high performance Studebakers to step up or stop complaining that Studebakers don't get recognition!!
