Safety be damned, I like the look when the rearview mirror is on top of the dashboard.

I thought the same thing when I saw the grill.I kinda like it. Side view looks kinda like the 58 2drht. The engine would probably have been 259,since it was for 1959.

        Hi

"I don't see anything remotely Studebaker on it."

You would if Studebaker had built it. Any car design only becomes identified with the make after that manufacturer has built and marketed it. If one were to have shown the 1953 coupe design clays to the general public in 1951-52 without identifying the potential manufacturer, no one would have identified Studebaker in purely that design.

The front fenders to me look very 1971 - 74 amc javelin !

Not that there is anything wrong with that .

I also think that the greenhouse is very studebaker '58j .

The rear guards scream mopar as does the front end .

All interesting enough at a time when the industry was

turning out cars that looked like 'space cadets'

The grille looks like the inspiration of the design proposal for the 1965 GT Hawk.

Well somebody was Dreaming alright to even THINK that Studebaker would consider building such a WIDE Car as the 12/3/57 Concept Car! Never happen.
