Manta Ray "Studebaker"

Have the TV going in the background down in the man cave, tuned in to Chasing Classic Cars, and heard Studebaker mentioned.

The were looking over the Manta Ray custom, which they described as, "A Studebaker, with a Cadillac engine.

The blurb says the builders KEPT the "bulky" Stude V8. Funny that the Caddy motor's no less bulky. Wonder why the "tale" and reality differ?

They joke (in the vid clip) about the prospect of changing a flat front tire. However, if you look close, there's a little panel aft of the bumper tip that looks like it's held in place with four fasteners. I'd be willing to bet that that panel's there for just that prospect.

I immediately thought of the LeSabre concept. The front bumper and other accents are obviously inspired by it.
