Wayne, your Hawk is a 62 right? That is the only year they put the TT emblem on the gas door.

Stanwood, I believe that Posi-Traction and Twin Traction are one and the same. If I'm wrong, it won't be the first time. I know that Chevy always used the Posi-traction name on all their cars with limited slip differentials.

The biggest difference between a Posi-Traction and a Twin Traction is, a Posi is a GM, a TT is a Dana Spicer.

Not even close to the same parts, just function.

Studebakers with optional twin traction were equipped with Dana "Power-Lok" limited slip differentials. The name could imply a locking type differential, but it's actually a clutch type limited slip. Power-Loks are used on many other makes, notably CJ Jeeps. 4WD shops are very familiar with Power-Loks, which are found in Dana 44, 60, and 70 rear axles.
