I have seen worse shape convertibles saved. I hope someone is able to make a deal with you. You have the sheet metal needed to save it and that is half the battle these days.

Milt ,I know but also know other people's thinking and do hope someone steps up and saves it , I have done my part but now all I can do is work with someone else that really wants a convert. time will tell. Checked the engine today and it looks to be a 259 full flow with 70 heads, but older style valve covers and fill tube, I put Marville mystery oil in the holes today and will let the soak for a few days and see what happens.

Bob, I think you should restore it and keep it! Just think of the fun you can have driving it with the top down on a beautiful day!

Brent, I have a few to drive already.

I'am 73 years old and do not need something to work on or restore, you should get it and enjoy it in that Minnesota sun.

              '61 A/C
The evap on the conv. appears to be later model but you could only tell if it was correct for '61 if it tied into the climatizer in the back. IIRC the evaporators look the same in the front from the posted pic. The bracket holding the evap. to the dash appears to be '62 GT as it's a 1 piece bracket as opposed to 2 'Z' brackets on later models. The condenser could be mounted forward of the radiator support bracket with the mounts that move it in front of the radiator . The SR wagons use the same set up w/o interfering with the weights which are mounted below the bumper in the front air panel. That looks like a great project -picking all the rot-free parts from a 4 door to save a drop top! I've done it here in PA. to bring back some of my '64's. It took several donors to make my Dad's '64 Champ as well as my '64 SR wagon. I've tried to save what I can now I feel the pains of storage for parts I'll never use. Thank you Bob for saving that rust free stuff and all your time storing it!

Bob, I bet that 52 is a lot easier to get into than the avanti and 53. Nice cars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Milt you got that right, then about the same as the 63 standard but not as fast. The white 60 convert. was a nice car and sold and is not living in Australia, I have good story about that one pulling my 88 one ton hauler and trailer with a 62 champ at the rear but it will have to wait, got to go to work now..

I do not agree with this.
The 1961 Lark evaporator looks different than the one in Bob's car.
The 1961 evaporator for Larks is shown in the large 1961 brochure, PD-61-16. The evaporator is not straight across on either the the top or bottom edges.
