In 2007 I tried to help the owner of a 1941 Commander 2D to find a set of rear fenders for his car that had served as a sort of industrial /utility machine in the US for many years before import to our country. I got some really good replies through this forum and SDC members. However, the owner never got any further even I thought that it might have been possible to get the fenders with reasonable efforts and investments. Over the years I have seen the car been advertised a couple of times. This summer it surfaced again - now as a pretty rough and mean gasser.
I think that it is still better to have one more Studebaker " back in the air" as the popular saying nowadays is.
Here are the original pics by the owner from 2006-2007
Here it is as it is today ( for sale again) - the language is not that easy for most of you (It is today powered by SBC and a 6-71 blower ).
Just wanted to give a sort of follow up as there are never too many of 1941 Commanders surviving - even with this rough appearance.
