  • Street Rod Nationals In Louisville, KY This Week

As usual, I plan to go up to the S.R. Nationals this weekend. Besides thousands of street rods, it seems like every street rod accessory vendor on the planet is there. Lots of their stuff is adaptable to Studes, i.e A/C kits. They usually sell at 10 percent off, and no tax, so lots of good deals, if a person actually needs something.

I plan to look at a better A/C evaporator for the 56J. It currently has a mid-1960s MOPAR, underdash, hanging unit I installed in the mid-late 1990s. It works OK, and blows real cold, but needs to blow more CFM in order to get cold air to the back seat area, especially with a planned trip to California in it next summer. I'd estimate the MOPAR blows around 250 CFM, but there are some out there that blow a lot more, like this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/251595944107...84.m1423.l2649

This one would be even better, buy will be very difficult to squeeze into the 56J: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Evaporator-U...10dbe7&vxp=mtr

Enjoy, Used to go every year, have not been a member or went since they opened it up to 1984 models , I guess they are up to 94 models now. To me , it is no longer a street rod show , just a car show .

Here is one to consider, Vintage Air does a great job of engineering their products.
