      Brad,
Your post contains two different part numbers...

Wow! You had me scrambling back to my 1955-58 chassis parts catalog! I wonder how many times those part numbers were transposed back when the Studebaker parts guys were using them every day. (Not you Jimmy L. Of Adams Studebaker)

Well what the heck is THE correct number? Then I can see if I have one.

                The 1541357 Pinion is for a 3.07 Axle Ratio and Automatic '56 B & H and '57 B, H & L. with 16 Teeth per the SP Catalog.

                I would expect a 3.31 Ratio with a Supercharger, that is a 1539348 17 Tooth.
A 3.54 would give the heavy Car a bit of "GO" with the S/C.

Thanks for all the help with my car.
                  It's a 1957 Packard Clipper station wagon.
It has a super charged 289 with FOM transmission and
                  Twin-Traction diff.
So according to better minds than my own (abit fuzzy) I would need
                  1539348 pinion gear 17 tooth.
Is there a ID tag on the rear to ID the ratio? Nothing on build sheet other than Twin-Traction.

Most critical question is, what is the rear end ratio in your wagon? According to my 55-58 parts book, if it is a 3.54, it needs 1539346, 18 teeth ; if a 3.31, 1539348, 17 teeth; if a 3.07, 1541357, 16 teeth.

Just back from garage. Removed tag from diff.
All it has is a 43 over a 13. Can anyone decipher this?
Ok, found a old post saying this rear ratio is 3.31 by doing the division thing.
So... I need speedometer pinion gear 1539348 with 17 teeth.

Thanks all for the great help!
I learned more about my wagon here and that's a good thing.
And I found the parts I needed as well!
                        Can't be beat!
