  • do you know this daytona?

I've found a Daytona for sale through an importer in Australia. I would like to know where it is and if anyone knows it's history. The pictures show it has what look like header block off plates behind each front wheel, might have done some drag racing in her time? If anyone can recognise this Daytona or know where it is please let me know. If you know it and it's close by, i could pay some one to check it over for me.

    cheers
    phil.

No idea, but those look-a-like fake spindle mount front wheels are pretty modern, so I've got a hunch that the previous owner was perhaps trying to make the car look like an old drag car...ya just never know though. Where is the master cylinder is what I'm wondering?? Regardless, cool lark with the v-8 and floor shifter. cheers, junior

I don't see the Daytona trim. Looks to be a nice HT non the same.

I'm with JR, those dumps were usually more for looks and noise than a true drag racer. How do I know? I grew up in the 50's and 60's and they were common. I may have put a few on myself. Serious guy would go headers.

I'd also expect a Hurst conversion shifter instead of trying to hit gears with a stock setup under heavy acceleration.

The real test would be to get a look at the rear suspension. Lark leaf setup would windup like a watch spring so a serious racer would add some kind of stabilizer setup. My guess is it's styled to look like that.

Not being negative, I really like the car but just doubt any racing heritage without looking closer.

Price looks pretty affordable, I'd drive it if I owned it. Bob

Yeah but headers are hard to come by for a Stude.

There is no side trim but it has a Daytona interior.
