Considering this GT that is far far away and asked for pics of rust prone areas. This is what he sent. Car is being marketed as all original including paint. Shows 43,000. Dont know if I believe all he told me but welcome any opinions based on whats shown. I see just enough rust to be cautious but not enough to run from. Original overall pic in ad I responded to looked pretty good. Anyone tell me by the numbers if this is an R series? No underhood pics but I may ask for another round. Thanks, Steve

From what photos there are, I don't believe it is a rust bucket. I'd chance on the body being good cause the underside looks good. Does it run? what is the interior lookin like? What's the price and if you don't wan't it after contemplating, PM me. thanks, cheers jimmijimsigpicAnything worth doing deserves your best shot. Do it right the first time. Not bad for what I see. Looking at the frame, there does not seem to be any rust swelling between the frame rail and bottom plate that you see so often. I would like to see pics of the inside lower trunk seam, front fenders where they bolt to the A pillars, underside of the doors where the water drains are, and the lower rocker panels forward of the rear wheels.
Still...from the pics shown, it looks good. Engine number would be a plus.John Clary

If this is a pic of where the left rear fender meets the rocker panel, shouldn't there be a joint there. Looks like it may have had body filler added there. I see the joint underneath but not on the side of the car. If so, there's probably other places that has body filler. Not necessarily a bad thing but a personal inspection maybe should be in order.

Thanks Bob. Not necessarily a deal killer but would have made the trip more worthwhile. Stevesigpic

Well...that certainly wouldn't discourage me. If the car is as good as it might be...finding minor "wrenchable" (unbolt bad bumper/bolt on better bumper) flaws like that...are great negotiating points when trying to get a "deal."Originally posted by StudeRich View PostI sure would run from that rear bumper drilled full of holes for those ridiculous Front Bumper guards!
...advantage...buyer.

Thanks, I will ask for better pics of that area. Personal inspection is not possible for me on this one and in fact the (non-car) guy acting as my agent is several hundred miles from the car. Deal would be done and money, including $$$ for shipping would change hands before I ever saw it. Stevesigpic

Photographer says he shot everything of concern rust wise but he is also not really a car guy. I am about to search for a video of the proper way to open the hood. I had warned him about bending the hood corners but he didnt follow what I was trying to explain so didnt open the hood. Did say the corners were straight. Stevesigpic

Doesnt discourage me as such, just makes me question the other claims. Stevesigpic
