Going on your age I was figuring it to a more recent ownership than that. Still if Bob Kolosso is still alive than it might be at least worth a call.

Yeah, he owns a dealership in town. He had since sold it and the last time my parents saw it was in 84. There's more to the story behind the wanting of an avanti but I won't bore anyone with it.

I tried on AOAI awhile back but I couldn't recover enough info... And I'm completely fine with owning a different one than his. It will still mean the same.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to pester you about it, I was mostly just curious if you had tried at all. I would personally be curious to hear the whole story sometime, I always have loved stories that delve into the sentimental reasons we love the cars we do, and I think cars be it model, or specific car that have family history. Thats why this thread intrigues me so much. If you haven't joined a local chapter yet I would do so, would give the chance to meet some avanti owners.

I did join the Wisconsin region studebaker drivers club about 2 years ago, just haven't attended any get togethers due to work but that should change this year.
