Perhaps folks curious about the SDC membership status of others should invest in a copy of the SDC roster.
Just saying, it's out there if anyone's interested.
And, membership is required to join a chapter but, I see no reference in the by-laws for any other participation.

      wait, what?

      Are you kidding me?

Someone is worried about you being an SDC Forum mod,
and if you are an actual SDC member,
but yet here you are running for an SDC Office?

      wow

      Note to those folks-
you must be an SDC member in good standing to run for said office.

      Just sayin'.

Odd. Why wouldn't they just ask you? Every conversation I've ever had with you has led me to believe you're a decent fellow. If I'm wrong about that, let me know, and I'll begin secretly spiting you post haste.

Besides the roster, you'd think the club wouldn't let a non-member run for office, either!

Oh well, it takes all sorts.

Well, only Clark knows who/what but it's no matter. The question has been answered, I have to dig up my membership card, but that's of no value here in Australia so no issue. It'll turn up once I tidy up a bit, been a crazy time adding my late parents papers to mine, now to clean out the place.

SDC members should have some type of icon displayed alongside their handle on the left side of the page designating club membership. Non club members would be iconless. Maybe Clark could fix that to be. Some may think this to be discriminatory but this action mayhaps gain a few club members. Sure wouldn't hurt chances. As it is presently. forum membership is not contingent upon being a club member. Some forum members are of the mindset "why buy a cow when you can get the milk free" cheers jimmijim

I'd actually prefer if the mods were NOT SDC members, had no interest in owning a Studebaker, and didn't even know anyone in the club. That way no one could accuse them of any unfairness.

I kind of like that idea, along with the year you joined.

In 2004? My significant Studebaker activity was the zone meet in Everett, Washington. Well, you beat me by one year. I joined in '78 when a local chapter was formed where I lived at the time.

oky dokey. I firstly learned of the club from a fellow in my hometown that I observed over a few year period of time, driving, Studebaker C and K models to and from work and general transportation. Mr. Bill Smedley. Follansbe West, Va. One day I caught up with him and during our conversation he told me of some sorta Hawk he had for sale and as I had owned and driven Larks I voiced interest. Turns out the car was a Packard Hawk. back in 77, 2100.00 was a whole lot of money but the car would have been a keeper if I would have had the bucks. When he showed me the club magazine I nearly fell out learning that there was an organization dedicated to Studes. I immediately joined. Back in those days, 450.00 would have bought a fair to pretty nice CK mobile. I at the time owned a spiffed up 60 Lark V8 4 dr regal. Cost a whopping 50 bucks as it needed a little bit of head work. I remember being turned down for a {car loan} in 1977 although I had good credit. Couldn't get 750. from my bank so as I could purchase a Power Hawk. I dropped that bank and joined the credit union and immdiately secured the loan. Paid bout 70 per month for a year and car was all mine. Wow have times changed. cheers jimmijim

I joined SDC in 1985. At the time, the nearest chapters were North Ga. and Orlando Area. We joined both.
After the IM in Nashville,1992,a group got together and formed the South Ga.Chapter. Been a member ever since.

I go off and on again as finances allow. Dad and I joined in 73, but went to our first club function in 71. I organized a chapter before it was chartered in 1980 in Amarillo Tx.
We shouldn't descriminate to those who can't afford to join. An interest and positive attitude should be all that's required.
