Yes, 'so sorry to hear of Phil Everly's passing yesterday(?) at age 74...and Bob Stevens' passing on New Years' Day.

Bob Stevens was the long-time Editor of Cars & Parts magazine and was always kind and favorable to Studebakers.

    RIP, both of them. BP

    P.S.
Thanks for your other kind words, too, Patrick.

I sure agree with that! So good to see you back and what a great history lesson, too. Thank you Bob, and happy New Year!

I have eaten in the "Round Tuit Restaurant" on Route 22 here in Dutchess County, NY.

In 1961, I turned down a one owner, complete, running 1958 Packard Hawk for $375. A wholesaler had just gotten it from Shaw Motors, the Chevrolet dealer in Beacon,NY. I think that the wholesaler may have paid $350 for it on a "pass through".

In 1960, I did buy a 1956 Mercury Montclair hardtop (high mileage and dented) for $300 from the Chevrolet dealer in Poughkeepsie, NY. I straightened the body and drove the car for about a year and then turned it in on a 1957 President Classic.
