    That's a good attitude. I never used files -- and if you need sandpaper coarser then 600 you better be working on something thick like stone guards to take out pits.
    Surface variations should be taken out by gentle "hammering" or bending -- not by sanding level. When someone invents stainless body filler, not likely, I might alter my opinion.
    The tutorial part about using modeling clay (for deadening backup to the hammer) got left out of the edited, shortened stainless series and it was kind of important. A useful idea for use on most curved surfaces, not just wheelcovers.
