Would a complete roof cut off a 66 wagonaire have any value? I suppose depends on who needs it right.

I think it would make a good 10 man toboggan.

Reminds me that there's most of a GT roof in my backyard. Would that make for a 4 or 5 person toboggan? Rob in PA.

It's a sliding roof which is why I dont know if I would want to part the car.

There were only 940 1966 Wagonaires built. That includes both Commander and Daytona, fixed and sliding roof (they were all Wagonaires by 1966).

What shape is the rest of the car in? That is a rare bird.

The real value of the roof is as a mold to make ABS plastic backings for headliners, particularly the front section from windshield to the midsection. If we could convince the RodDoors people to give it a home - and provide the headliners - it would be great. The ABS can be covered with the perforated vinyl to look close to original, less waffle pattern.

That is a V8 Wagonaire, but the "door post" (Serial Number) must be C513859. That also makes it a 1965 V8 Studebaker, not a "1966". The VP8, for 1965, makes it a V8 Daytona Wagonaire.

What was the body code for the '66 wagons? Maybe they used the V P 8 designation to denote the new 1966 "Wagonaire" model?

That would be a noble end for a rusted out Wagonaire! Maybe not this particular wagon but some good specimens come up now and then. I think there are many Wagonaires in need. My '63 is one of them!<G>

Yes, VP8 was used as the body code for all V8 1966 Wagonaires. My main point was that the stated Serial Number is in the range of 1965 Studebakers, not 1966. In 1965, VP8 designates a V8 Daytona Wagonaire (VP4 for a Commander Wagonaire).
