Today the Dutch Treat Racing Team purchased this farm truck:

It was found on Craigslist and just North of my place and South of High Gear Ranch where the Bucket List Dream Avanti was restored. It is a 1948 M16 11/2 ton truck with a 16' all steel flatbed. It has the big six and the 195" wheel base and the two speed rear axle. It is going to be set up as a dove tail ramp truck to haul the 1960 Lark:

that is being built for Land Speed racing. It will likely be equipped with a late model diesel engine and auto trans and if all goes right will make it's debut along with the Lark at El Mirage in May 2014. Look for more in the future on this buiild. It has been sitting with the head off of it for 30 years and only has 49,000 showing on the clock. Very little body work and is in great shape considering it's age. It's all due to the fact it has been parked under a covered car port all that time. The bad news is the mice are going to lose their home. The good news is this Studebaker will see the road again in fine fashion. Awesome!

That is a heck of a deck on the back of that truck. Glad you found it!

          Dan,
That is going to be one nice looking truck when it is done. I have always loved that body style. Looks like the Dutch Treat Lark is coming along as well.
