  • 62 GT Hawk Parts car in Denver $800

Not mine no affiliation. Looks like a good deal for someone looking for a complete gt hawk parts car.

    link to Craigslist ad:
    http://denver.craigslist.org/pts/4012459968.html

This is a 1962 Studebaker Grand Tourismo. The engine and Transmission have been removed, but the transmission and driveshaft are included with the car. Before I took the engine out for another car, I drove this car, and the trans worked fine, but I cannot say anything about the overdrive. The frame is in very good condition, and the front cross member is almost perfect. The front fenders, notorious for rusting out, are not bad at all, and they are not full of body filler either. The trunk is also solid. There is significant rust on the forward portion of the quarter panels. The bumpers are straight but could be re-chromed. The grill is straight, as is the trunk panel.

The power steering pump, hardware and linkage are all still in place on the car, although I do not know if they work. One unique feature the car has is an under-seat heater on the driver's side in addition to the stock one on the passenger side. It has its own flat fan and hose connections to the other core. Both the hood and the trunk do not have the usual creases near the hinges, although the hood is not all the way straight. The dash is complete except for the radio. All the upholstery needs to be redone, and all the panels are there. The window mechanism on the driver side door is not there, and I have no idea why not. The car does not have a title. 303-757-5591

Is this the one GThawkwind was asking about? It looks familiar and appears to have been a 4 speed car. Steve

No, I think that shifter on the column and the clutch pedal means it was probably a three speed manual car. And is that an OD control I see hanging down there? <GG>

I get blinder every day. I did not see the shifter when I looked for it the first time. Steve

Sure looks savable if they can find a serious GT buyer. I had a tough time with mine for not much more, WITH a running 289 and 4-speed.

I need to check it out... Looks like a lot of 12 volt parts for the Speedster.... all I need is another parts car !

If the steering column, power steering assembly, transmission linkage is directly compatible with my Speedster it would save a lot of brain damage from the other options I've been considering. Seems like it should be!

Only about 10 miles away. I'll be on it tomorrow.

              Thanks for the Post.

different car, I looked that car over on Thur. when picking up the 62 Daytona, 289 4 bld. 4 speed and TT rear end. the GT did have a 289 and 3 speed with over drive but seats were gone and rust.

the only four speed car I was considering for parts was the one bams speaks off. the other 3 speed car I was considering was one up in colarado beind sold by a club member.

Looking at this one this afternoon. It has a few parts I could use.

Didn't buy it. Frame looks good. Most body panels need some work. Not exactly the steering column I need but adaptable. Interior complete but worn.

I'd see it as a parts car rather than a restore project.

I'll put a pencil to it but first blush doesn't meet my needs.
