  • Hawk right front drip rail molding and oil ga line

I'm looking for the right front drip rail molding for a 58 Packard Hawk. The one I have was polished and sent back but has two
cracks so I'd rather find a replacement. Also need the oil guage line from gauge to engine flex line.
    ??
    Thanks!

    KD,

I have tried several times to find "straight" drip rail stainless with little success. If you find any that you do not need, PM me with who has it. I have like 4 sets of iffy, said it was perfect but not and so forth. If you come up dry, let me know and we can look at what I have to see if your trim guy thinks he can save one of them. FYI, just in case you are not aware, the front drip rail molding is the same from 53 - 64 on all C/K bodies. The real trick is getting them off, most people %&(# them up taking them off.

Kerry: Is the oil pressure hose to which you refer the flex hose from the RR of the engine to the rigid line on the firewall?

If so, Jim Turner of Turner Brakes has had them made up in "lifetime" stainless steel with a black covering that makes them look like "regular" reinforced rubber hose line. Contact Jim at Turner Brakes for shipping, etc.

They are so good your car will never need another one in your lifetime. BP

I don't need the flex hose, it's the hard line that runs from the gage to that flex line that I am looking for. I had already talked to Jim and he told me he didn't make that line, I'll touch base with him again.

(talked to Jim, he only makes the flex line, not the hard line)

Kerry, I doubt that anyone is going to have, or have reproducd, the hard line. You'll have to bend one up from small-diameter steel tubing available at NAPA or elsewhere.

You might be able to cover it with rubber vacuum line hose to make it look more authentic, but you'd have to slit the hose lengthwise because it wouldn't fit over the fittings on either end of a premade length of tubing. BP

I think I have a couple of those lines here - used of course. I'd have to have an idea of what length a Hawk used.
No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.
