  • OT- What I raced- 4 pics

This is the biggest weekend of the year where I last raced, Oswego Speedway- home of the world's fastest short track cars. Not Studes, but gives an idea of what I come from...

Here's two "Small block supers" (The 10 already has a "trailer tire" on the RF)

That's the class where I did the bulk of my (pavement) racing; my brother still does. The 93 is his car.

    Here's a "Supermodified"

They run 2 classes- with a wing (pictured) and without. 1850 lbs with driver.

    Supermodified engine:

Chevy, 467 cu. in., aluminum heads, Kinsler F.I. on alcohol. direct-drive with in/out box. With wing (5/8 mile oval)- 15-16 second laps, approx. 135MPH average, approx. 155 top speed[]

Spent the weekend watching- and thinking about coming out of retirement next year.......

Hmmm... Now I understand the reckless, high speed driving in Molly at the Test Track in SB! No wonder you lost a hubcap.

You don't know the half of it! With the wing on, at speed, it tries to suck your helmet straight up[]

Well, if we're going to share our dirty laundry...[)]

This was my SCCA Improved Touring B Suzuki Swift GTi. Never won any races and never finished last. But there was a lot of fun with the other 35 cars somewhere in the middle. I also won 3rd Place Production Road Racer at the Detroit Autorama in 1998.

Leonard- the car under yours in the pic is called an IMCA modified around here; drove one of those a little also.

Matthew- my driving wasn't reckless at the PG- no one told me stock Stude wheels would throw a hubcap at only 108 MPH... now I know!

What happened to Dave's post? Lots of info and pics, all gone[V]

How about the rest of you- done any racing?
