  • Garage find.....may be 4sale

Well we have all heard the storis and some of us are actually lucky enough to say it has happened to them, and maybe this time it will be me!
Anyway, I have a close friend who loves auctions, in particular personal property auctions. He cuts them from the newspaper and when there is something of intrest carwise he always calls me. This week he called me about an upcoming auction nearby, 9 days long 2 auctioneers selling from 9-5 various cars and parts from a local collector. We are supposed to go the first day just to see whats there. BUT thats another story......he then calls me yesterday and says, "hey theres an auction next week and they have a car listed in the paper, a 64 Catalina". He then tells me hes going to go look at it. Last night he calls back disappointed about the pontiac. He then goes on to say he found a nice old Studebaker while out driving around. I asked about it and he said its a 31 4door sedan and its been garaged since 1960. I am supposed to see it later today. He said the owner is semi ready to sell it. Its not the supercharged lark daytona of my dreams BUT, its still a neat piece. I will get some pics and give you all an update soon!

hmmm, my girlfriend has 2 GT Hawks....and I feel left out, wheres my "R" model Daytona????

Well we talked to the owner yesterday, a nice old guy in his late 80s. He isnt ready to part with it yet, but also realizes hes not going to do anything with it. It was a car his father bought brand new. 6cyl with Id say all original parts. Cool looking wood spoke wheels and all. Blue and black with a kinda tan interior. I love talking to the older people they have sooooo many stories to tell. We were there for 4 hours, lol. Will post some pics soon.
