I have a 56 2dr wagon. If you asking how rare they are thinking rare equals big money than I hate to tell you this but yes they are rarer than a sedan but not rare enough to make them real expensive. Overall not a lot of them out there but there seems to be a 54-58 wagon on ebay every month. Now saying that Welcome to SDC if you have joined ,and if not you need to. If this is your first Studebaker sit back and read this form a while before you invest in your wagon. You'll learn a lot of info that will help you get started in the right direction. Good Luck.

I've got both a 54 Champian (slowly being converted to a Commandor) and a 55 Commandor Conestoga.
Along with both a 59 and 60 Lark 2dr. wagons.

            Maybe I can help.

                Hi Mike!
You have a fine car that was named for a very historic vehicle. The Connestoga wagon, primary mover of the Westward Movement. This is what made the Studebaker Bros. rich. They celebrated their 100th anniversary of this vehicle with the wagon you own. If you haven't already, join the club. The magazine alone is worth the cost.

Welcome, and I hope your 'Connie' brngs you many miles of smiles!

In the 1955 saturday morning TV series "Sky King" Penny (his niece or something - the relationship was never clear to me) drove a 55 Conestoga Wagon. I fell in love with them on that show. I also fell in love with his Cessna T-55, but that is for another forum.

In his song, "Pencil Thin Mustache", Jimmy Buffet has a line in which he mentions "Sky's niece, Penny". So, yeah, maybe she was his niece. I'm too young to remember the show, so I didn't know she drove a Studebaker. Does anyone know if the company paid for that kind of product placement in TV shows in 1955, or did that really start with Mr. Ed?

                            Dig oput your handkerchief.
I bought an early '55 Champion Connie in good shape, AT, registered and running. For $50.00.
Of course, that was in the late 1960s, but I remember it very well. Great car.
