  • 1931 studebaker parts needed

Hi I am restoring a 1931 studebaker commander model 70 4 door I am looking for bumpers for it I was told bumpers from 31 to 34 would work . I also need the the stude logo that fits in the top of the grill. is there any one that may have any leads on parts for this car? Thank R L Elder

Just saw an ad on Craigslist for some parts for a 31 model six 54 in Rapid City dated 5-27. I don't know if they interchange.

I'm also working on a 1931 and looking for a windshield frame, but mine is a model six-54. You haven't come across one of those have you in your parts search?

    Take Care

You have been misinformed. The only bumper that will interchange with the '31 Commander model 70 is the '31 President, and they are very hard to get!

The 31 president and commander will interchange but there is a difference. The president is 4 inches wide and the commander is 3.5. I still have both in the barn rafters and will try to get you photos.

Pretty much the entire bodies were like that........The President series 'looked' the same as the Commander.....but enlarged some!

Looking at the photo I noticed that the spokes on the wire wheels are painted the same color as the hud and rim, red I think. Did they paint the frame/chassie to match the wheels or vise versa. Also, did they ever chrome plate just the spokes and paint the hubs and rims? Thanks for the info.
