I need info on this car that my friend saw. Looks like I can palay this into breakfast, someday
Huck,
Man oh man, do I ever wish you would have been with me and my buddy Don yesterday. Him and I get together once or twice a month to do breakfast, and to catch up with whatever needs catching up on. Anyways, as usual, we went to Paula's, a restaurant on Sumpter Rd. just South of Belleville, and lo and behold in to the parking lot comes a big ole Ford truck pulling an open trailer with a really sleek Studebaker on it. I went right over to talk to the guy, and instantly noticed all of the salt on the car and trailer so, as he got out of his truck, I asked him if by any chance he is coming home from the Bonneville Salt Flats. His instant answer was a yes so, we engaged in some conversation. The car is a darker red, some big kind of gold colored number on the side, a few sponsors, and his name was Homer ???????? (can't remember for the life of me). The Stude ran 206 mph on the two way average, trying to beat the 212 mph record but, the salt was kind of wet, and the air was kind of humid, and engines don't like burning water. The engine was a 351 cid Ford Cleveland, and I didn't ask about the trans and rear end. There is a picture of the car on the wall of the restaurant so, if you are ever out this way, I'll have to take you there to eat.
