I have spoken with Mrs. Friddle about her Truck mainly because the first 4 or 5 2 week ADs said 5 Speed, so I ASS UMED, that it was a V-8 5 Speed Probably Overdrive 1 Ton Dually, a very good and desirable combo.
So when I got her to post Pics of the Engine, that is when I discovered the Commander 245 Big 6 and mentioned that you do not count Reverse, and 6's did not have 5 Speeds. So of course it's a T-98 Four Speed, a very good easy shifting Trans. just not Overdrive.
It still is a Great Farm Truck as is but not something you want to drive to a International Meet, Coast to Coast.
I have watched the Buy It Now price go slowly down from $8500.00 to $6500.00 and I told her $5000.00 is a bit closer to reality, so I wished her well and moved on.
No I have not seen it, but it would have been interesting to do so, looks Great in the Pics, I love the high quality Bed it has, there is a good sturdy "Bumper" hitch and a Gooseneck Ball hitch over the Axle.Last edited by StudeRich; 03-21-2013, 12:43 PM.StudeRich

Ah, very helpful Rich, thank you. I wondered about that transmission.
Anyone in Michigan? Are there any members of this forum who knew Mr. Friddle? I really like the truck, but buying such a vehicle from thousands of miles away is a bit of a risk for me.
Love to find one more local, but nothing has come up that I can afford. Wish that Cemetary truck was still available from the Williams estate, or even the one-ton Champ... Sometimes it seems things are never in place when I need them to be.Ah well, such is life I suppose...
