Engine ID - Champion / Econo-Miser flathead ?

Greetings all !

I am trying to ID the original application of the 170 cid flathead in my '50 2R-10 pick-up.

It bears stamped engine # 584346.


The gang at Studeabker Truck Talk tell me this was NOT a truck engine, as it does not bear a truck application code.

Anybody able to tell what year/ model this engine was originally for ?

That number fits a 1950 Champion car engine.
