    I might agree with you about paints and paint processes in the 1950s and earlier, but I haven't seen either of those cases for 1960s and later paints and paint systems (there have been other problems with paint).

      Studegary. I've been doing this from 1972 and here in mn I saw a lot of it up untill about the late 80's. Now with the urathaines and the base clears most paints out live the cars. Had a few cars I repainted back in the day that didn't see much drive time go up to 10 yrs and still look ok but not one driven everyday in the winter.
