  • Studebakers Night Out

I'm reasonably certain that the Studebaker brothers had no idea that their wagon business would evolve to this on a Saturday night in New Smyrna Beach Florida. But then it makes sense as many more people in Florida know about and used to drive Studebakers. Four Studebakers showed up. The red 454 is incredible. Ken, Deltaville VA

They may not have envisioned their Vehicles going faster than 15-20 MPH either!

    Over 200 would seem IMPOSSIBLE!

Ken, Did Scotty tell you ablut his LS powered Avanti project?
Or how his red car became topless?

If I remember right, the roof on Scotty's red car was molded from a roof from one of my granddad's old parts cars. Stuff gets around.

I remember being at a Zone Meet in Gainesville, FL a few years back. I know Jeff was there with the yellow CE (that's the one where you gave me half a $10 bill to clean the engine bay). Anyway, I ended up riding shotgun in that '53 on Sunday when everyone convoyed over to the Cade's place. I'll never forget Scotty trying to have a conversation with me as we were riding down the road. I could see his lips moving, but couldn't hear a thing over that big Chevy.

Jeff. Not sure if you have ever been to this "cruise in", but all to often the owners leave their cars and go look at others (there are about 200 cars there routinely and up to 500, so I've been told on a good day). Went back to his car three times but could not locate him; I was interested in how the top of the front was attached and how the frame and support system was done. Although I have sworn off doing any more cars, it would not take much to rekindle an interest in hot roding a 52 hard top. KEN.
