I still like wires. They may be a bit more work but worth it. I use the two step Eagle One wire wheel cleaner that really works well. This product is no longer available but I stocked up on it some time ago. I run the Borrani's on the Avanti. I have a spare set that I had planned to run on the Daytona convertible but have since sold it.
