Looks like a 2005 Bizzarini GTS 4.4V to me. One of those 'revival concepts' that never get off the ground.

Especially if left too close to the sun.
Looks like a phallic for those guys who try far too hard.

Yes. It is a Bizzarini concept that was proposed a few years back and never went into production.

Why? Why would revival of the marque require one to design a car that looks like a car from 40 - 50 years ago? If the point is to revive the marque one needs to design cars that consumers would buy; you can't revive a brand by building a car that only appears to old farts and antique car fanciers because it looks like their beloved IDYSD ride - that's a pretty limited market - you've got to build something that young folks want to buy; something new and unique.

I think that's why folks have failed trying to revive marques and why they will continue to fail.

There are exceptions; as the Camaro, Mustang, Charger and Challenger have proved but you have to keep in mind too that muscle cars were made in huge numbers and are very well known. Avanti would probably be considered more of a sport coupe but not a "muscle" car and its numbers mean that it had far less exposure in its day so a revival would appeal to fewer persons today.

Ya wanna build cars? Ya gotta build something that will appeal to enough folks that you end up making money; not losing money. Studebaker and Packard sort of slipped off the rails there and lost sight of that and it doomed them. Pegging a revival to an old design of cars that really didn't have a strong market in their day or since will doom it.

                        I'm just sayin'

                          I like the pictured car.
In my opinion, 2001-2007 Avantis are a modern car with enough of the nostalgic look of the early Avantis, sort of like the newer Mustangs/Camaros/Challengers.
